•January 25, 2010 • 1 CommentEncountered something unexpected recently. Couldn’t help but remember it when I was training my left hand earlier today (thats right, I’m gonna get my left hand as nimble as my right someday). This is my right hand, drawn by my left hand. If you think my hand looks ugly and demented, it’s cuz I drew it terribly. My hand is (in my opinion) quite nice.

•January 17, 2010 • Leave a CommentHere’s some random stuff scrawled over my agenda over the past 2 weeks. It’s mostly Gundam related things drawn from memory, lmao.
Started off in Math iirc, with the terribly proportioned Tallgeese II, then the Turn X, followed by a dying Turn A, ugly-ass Moonlight Butterfly effect, then finally, Big Zam which terrorizing the area near the guy cruising on a boat (which was actually the first thing I drew when school restarted).
This one started off as a Gouf, then while I was fiddling with the Assassin’s Creed inspiration for the colorscheme, I started drawing Ezio’s trademark portrait, which for some reason gave me Qubeley vibes, so I gave him Qubeley armor.
And again, in Math, was trying to remember how ZZ Gundam looked like. But I drew it so badly that I ended up changing him to God Gundam, but kept ZZ’s hi-mega beam cannon on the forehead. Oh and a terrible attempt at drawing Master Gundam. Speaking of Gundams, my progress on the Gouf’s painting so far:
The lighting skews the colors a bit lot. I’ve only sprayed offwhite-grey tone and maroon red so far. Also, I’m in the midst of crafting a pair of Moonlight Butterfly wings for my MG Turn A. Have yet to figure out how to attach them onto Turn A’s back, nor the exact way I’m gonna craft them. But I’ve drawn half of the wings on some nice paper already.
Front side of paper. This side is shiny.
Back side of paper. This is the side I drew on.
A package arrived in the mail today…
•January 12, 2010 • 2 CommentsThanks to Ron @ http://paperkraft.blogspot.com/ for hosting the giveaway contest
. In the spirit of his blog, here’s a Cubee Sinanju papercraft I put together some time ago. I have a folder stocked full of papercraft templates (mostly Gundam and other mecha, but there’s plenty other goodies in it), but I never have the time to work on them. Gunpla takes priority I’m afraid /shrug. The shirt arrived today, and while L size is a bit big, it’s still very nice quality. Oversized shirts are the norm for popping anyways, so it won’t be wasted. Thanks again Ron!
Plant Microscopy
•January 10, 2010 • Leave a CommentWas fiddling with cross section microscope slides of of plant roots, stems, leaves and buds on Friday in biology. My sony ericsson’s 8 megapixel camera took photos through the lenses quite well. But the pics were DAMN hard to take. Here’s 2 of the pics I took. Taking pics was a great idea, imo. I see more from the pics than I with my own eyes through the microscope.
Cross section of a monocot root.
Cross section of a leaf.
It’s been a good start to the new year :)
•January 8, 2010 • Leave a CommentFirst, my exams turned out quite well for the most part
Second, Calvin returned from HK with bounty for me.
Robot Damashii Crossbone X-1 he brought back for me over the summer, X-2 he brought back this Christmas, along with a set of promotional GundamxMTR tickets. Which came with that tiny gunmetal RX-78 you see in the front.
ANOTHER ROBOT TAMASHII TURN-X. Moonlight Butterfly limited edition ver.
so damn cool. Can’t get enough of Turn-X.
Third, my order from HLJ’s holiday sale came in.
HG Tallgeese III and Nataku for about $15 CAD combined. Can’t wait to get cracking on them. Tallgeese III’s runners are COMPLETELY WHITE. Not a big issue, cuz TGIII is mostly white anyways, and since it has parts for Tallgeese I and II as well, white is actually a better base colour to paint on. Nataku’s colour distribution on the runners are quite good, at first glance. Little painting and topcoat seems to be all it needs to look great. Also picked up a bottle of Future Floor Finisher from Loblaws for ~$8. Goddamn, it’s amazing for getting a gloss coat on any kit. It can be BRUSHED on straight from the bottle without thinning with NO brush stroke marks. Shit’s sooo cash XD.
Fourth, progress is going well on MG Gouf Custom. Spent a bit of time yesterday installing a new monoeye for the Gouf.
This is what they give you straight from the kit. A clear colour piece with a crappy sticker, which doesn’t even go on smooth cuz the plastic is actually slightly domed.
And this is the modified eye. Yeah yeah, sprue marks, I haven’t sanded the head pieces yet.
New eye was created with these rhindstones. I cut 2mm of cylindrical clear plastic from the runner to serve as a base to glue onto the pivoting piece in the head. The stones are actually too thick, and don’t fit because a clear plastic piece goes in front of the camera to serve as a protective screen, so I had to sand down the back for it to fit. This left the rhindstone dull and unsparkly, so I took a silver paint marker and gave it a bit of shine on the back.
I cemented it on the back, in case it didn’t work, I wanted to at least have the original part usable as a backup. I think the new one is much nicer. Simple yet effective.
Thus, was my great start to the new year
